Hackers are typically Drunk Bastards, but the sort of drunk bastards that can implement a TCP stack while doing a keg stand.

The term hacker is not to be confused with the term script kiddie. Script kiddies tend to use laptops with the num lock permanently turned on, and are rarely old enough to drink. While it is true that hackers may also use laptops with broken keyboards, they are able to write kernel space software workarounds which allow them to spell sensibly despite not being able to afford decent gear.

There has been a proposed causal relationship between hackers and Anally Injected Death Syndrome, but critics point out that correlation does not imply causation. A more complex theory holds that AIDS is related to BSD and the relationship between AIDS and hackers can be explained by noting that many hackers use BSD. Yet another theory is that hackers tend to suffer from BRIDS which may result in AIDS.
